Historically Accurate!, November 3rd, 2009
By Randy Roach.
Author: "Muscle, Smoke and Mirrors"
There aren’t many diet books that interest me anymore, especially one that I would sit and read fully in a single sitting. However, “The Liberation Diet” easily kept me captivated throughout its entirety. It is rare to find a book on diet today that is based on common sense and historical precedent. Kevin Brown and Annette Presley have managed to cut through our contemporary nutritional garbage and bring to market a book constituted on solid dietary principles and a simple rationale.
Much of their content flies in the face of the vast majority of our current dietary “experts,” many of whom represent political and/or pure commercial interests. What I found refreshing was how their suggested protocol aligned almost identically with one of the greatest natural bodybuilders of the 20th century, Vince Gironda. In order to strengthen and state their case, Kevin and Annette went back in time to chronicle the works of our nutritional and Physical Culture pioneers. They lay out a history that clearly supports their claim that our traditional North American dietary staples were sound in nutrition and facilitated excellent health.
The mandate of “The Liberation Diet” is to both free the general laymen of the current confusion surrounding healthy food and make simple alterations for safe and effective fat loss that have stood the test of time. Hopefully this book will see wide spread distribution. Excellent job!
"Tough Love Diet", May 22, 2009
By Debra Gaynor "Debra Gaynor" (Hawesville, KY USA) -
This book has the truth about diets. With so much propaganda about diet and exercise, what is the truth? Read this book! The information about fasting is fascinating. I will start fasting. It is actually healthy! They stress that diet is even more important than exercise; though, exercise is important. Also, you cannot make up for a bad diet by taking vitamins. There are recipes and menus that look good. Keep in mind, I am a very picky eater, and I still think they are practical and filling. In the end, are testimonies from those who have lost weight on the Liberation Diet. This book is not filled with fluff. This is a tough love diet.
Doctor Recommended, February 14, 2009

As a physician, when it came time for me to lose weight and improve my over-all health, I was supposed to know the safest and most efficient way to get in shape. Yet when it came time to put my plan into effect, I felt my 15 years of medical training as a family physician didn’t equip me to achieve my weight loss and exercise goals within my scheduled 100 hour work week. I clearly needed professional help. The solution was to find a personal trainer who would come to me on a flexible schedule and teach me about nutrition, diet, and exercise.
Before working with Kevin Brown, President of Visionary Trainers, I had spent about 6 weeks on a poorly designed exercise regimen that was devoid of good nutritional advice. Kevin Brown, a certified personal trainer with 20 years experience, designed a plan that helped me eat better, diet smarter, and exercise my way to a 16 lb weight loss in less than 4 weeks. Now Kevin has written this book, The Liberation Diet, that tells the truth about the mis-information on weight management in today’s society and teaches individuals how to achieve lasting weight loss success.
How does this book differ from the rest? It’s a revolutionary look at why traditional diets don’t work and what everyone should be doing to improve their lifestyles. Most weight management programs are monolithic in their approach, placing all individuals on the same regimen regardless of their individual needs. Not everyone will achieve their weight loss goals by just following the grapefruit diet, or walking 1 mile a day, or even by just cutting carbs. The Liberation Diet teaches you how to combine the right balance of nutrition, diet, and exercise to achieve your lifestyle success.
This book is groundbreaking work for use by novice or even advanced trainees. I highly encourage anyone interested in a safe, effective, and pharmaceutical free diet, to read The Liberation Diet. The experience will set you free to discover secrets to improve your overall quality of life.

- I finally managed to read The Liberation Diet. It's brilliant! The book has a very strong Introduction and the use of The Matrix as an illustration was inspired. The writing style is also very easy to read for the layman and holds the interest; I wasn't bored with it once. In many ways it is a 'popular' version of my latest book, Trick and Treat: how 'healthy eating' is making us ill. We both blame the 'health industry', Big Food and Big Pharma, and advise eating a more natural, vitamin A and D based diet. I loved The Liberation Diet. And although most of the content was known to me, I did learn things I hadn't known. Thank you for that education. People need to know how they are being manipulated. The more copies of The Liberation Diet and Trick & Treat are sold, the sooner our people will have a chance to be healthy again as God intended.

By K. Valente (National Park, NJ)
I am a Personal Trainer and I have utilized this diet with my clients. The results have been rapid and extremely effective. If you stick with the diet itself regardless of exercise, it will still make you lose weight. I am so glad the authors of this book have made this available to the general public and I am looking forward to another book with more recipes in it.
Amazing information, December 6, 2008
By Kelly Stack "Kelly Stack" (Walnut Creek, CA)
The information presented in this book is like none you've ever seen before in any diet, nutrition or weight loss book out on the market. You will be astonished at how different the information is, yet how easy it is to follow and why it completely makes sense. I predict this book being presented on Oprah some day. Get reading this book and get liberated yourself!

"Makes Perfect Sense to Me," December 11, 2008
By C. Marshall (Midland, TX)
I know one of the author's of the book and at first when she told me of it I was skeptical because of all the information doctors and dieticians have given me over the years. This was opposite of everything they said but the more I read it the more it makes sense!
Thank you for finally telling us the truth!
"Liberate Yourself from Obesity", April 25, 2009
By Steve Burns "Life long learner" (Nashville, TN) -
I agree with the principles put forth in this book not because it is my opinion but because I lost 60 pounds following a diet plan almost identical to the author's. Kevin Brown suggests eating the way humans ate through out history before the low-fat, artificial food craze began. The odd thing is that obesity and heart disease was almost unheard of until the cheap high carbohydrate food of the modern corporate world. Also the crazy 1000+ calorie restaurant meals with hundreds of carbohydrates in one setting has added to the epidemic.
The book suggests changing our eating to natural foods with a focus on proteins and natural fats. Avoid trans fats (Hydrogenated oils) that can damage the body. Your body needs protein as building blocks and essential fats for good health. Carbohydrates are not essential and should be limited to a few pieces of fruit and vegetables a day, make an effort to eat these in season and get them locally grown if possible to avoid insecticides. I learned that excessive water can actually cause your body to flush out minerals and nutrients, and we really need only a few cups of water a day not the 8 glasses recommended. MSG, splenda, and aspartame are not natural and should be avoided, the author explains why.
The diet is very practical with 2-3 meals a day based on your hunger. With the focus on quality proteins and fat as the focus and a small amount of natural carbohydrates. 50% of calories in a diet coming from fat could shock some people, but the numerous testimonials in the back of the book and my own experience should give you comfort that it works, the blood pressure readings and blood work proved it for me. Avoid all food that is processed, prepackaged, and manufactured. I like that the author talks about phasing in the changes slowly whether it is adding butter to margarine until it is all butter. Or phasing out diet colas, if you drink 6 a day, next week drink 5 a day, then 4 the next week etc. until you are down to replacing it with a more healthy natural drink. This principle is what made it possible for me to be successful in changing my eating behavior. I would eat a healthy breakfast for the first week, then add a healthy lunch the next week until I had changed my eating behavior. It works! The key is to reduce your carbohydrate intake to a normal level so your body quits releasing insulin to lower your blood sugar. The problem with this is that insulin is a fat storing hormone that causes your body to store fat and sends signals of hunger after it has lowered your blood sugar. This is not a low-carb diet, it is a normal-carb diet.
Just an excellent book that if you follow the program you will lose weight and become healthy and energetic. Open your mind to what really works and just try it, you will be shocked at the results.
